My advice to men considering the priesthood: Love God like a child now. You may not always have the chance.

Why I want to be a Priest: I want to make a free, total, faithful, and fruitful gift of my life to our wonderful God. When I was 15 Jesus claimed me for Himself and in my gratitude and desire to make Him famous I gave my life to Him. I want to make this gift as a Roman Catholic priest because a priest enjoys both a special intimacy with the Person of Jesus Christ and also the special means for continuing His beautiful work in the souls of Christians.

Hobbies & Interests: I like to play tennis and soccer, cook for big groups, study ancient languages, read Great Books, and travel, among other things. A lot of my favorite past times are related to learning and implementing what I call the art of living. Those skills that are fundamental to human life -- e.g. how to sleep, eat, exercise, read, save/spend/give money, etc. -- I like to do very well. I'll write a book one day; right now I'm working on the chapter called Trusting God.

Influence: Some of the major influences in my life are my family, Dan Huss, Steve Algeyer et al. (Incarnate Word Life Teen), Nathan and Jonathan Lewis, Aristotle, Frs. Luigi Giussani, Dan Estes SOLT, and Regis Armstrong, OFM. Cap., the Great Commission (Mt. 28:18-20), Steve Shadrach, and (more and more) the Holy Spirit.
