The September 19 issue of The Leaven was dedicated to the Sisters, Servants of Mary, an active community of women who have a special ministry. They go out at night to homes where a family member is seriously ill or dying. With their medical training they care for the patient's physical needs, and often for their spiritual needs and those of their family. Families can sleep well knowing their loved one is being well cared for overnight. As dawn breaks the sisters return to their convent for Mass, prayer, and rest for the next evening.
