Thoughts on the Quo Vadis Retreat

Giving those few days of my life to God at the Archbishop's retreat was the beginning of laying down my life and listening to God. Giving those few days gave me courage to give one year at the seminary, which has turned into another year. Before that, I had tried doing what I wanted to do, with mixed results that weren't satisfying. I really enjoyed meeting other men at the retreat who were in the same boat I was, struggling with what God wanted me to do. It was at the retreat that I learned how to listen to God and the ways to discern His will. |

This July, pro soccer player Chase Hilgenbrinck announced he was leaving the New England Revolution major league team to begin studies as a seminarian for the Peoria Diocese.
